Do What You Can With the Time You Have
Jan 01, 2024Wouldn't it be great if, as a mom, you were rolling out your yoga mat for a 30- to 60-minute flow every day? I mean, I don't know about you, but that's just not realistic for me these days. So let's talk about doing what we can with the time we have--because, YES, you can do yoga while you're momming!
I don’t just mean rolling out your mat during playtime and getting a few downdogs in. (That used to be my reality, but it’s so…far…from reality these days, ha!)
I’m talking about doing all the other things that encompass yoga in the midst of feeding your baby, playing with your kids, pushing your stroller, etc etc etc.
Here are a few ideas for ya:
-
Alternate nostril breathing while feeding baby
-
Seated stretches while stacking blocks with your toddler
-
Pairing your breath with each push of the swing at the playground (inhale as your kid comes towards you, exhale as you push the swing away)
-
Coming back to mountain pose while you’re holding or wearing baby (ribs + hips stacked, crown of head lifting high)
-
Moving meditation during a stroller walk (What do you see? What can you hear?)
You already know yoga is one of the most powerful tools we can have to find peace, calm, and strength in mom life. Come join me in Birth & Beyond and unlock this treasure trove for yourself.
